Is America in a Romans 1 moment?

Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

We are far from the days of being a blessed nation by God. Our Founding Fathers built this nation with God and Jesus at the center of it. We praised and thanked God for the blessings he gave us as a nation. We feared and respected our Father and His ways. We actually followed God’s ways. We use to be “one nation, under God”. Somewhere along the way, we as a nation and as a people started thinking that we knew better. We started viewing God as a politically incorrect being who must be pushed out of our society so that we can get on with our lives the way we see best.

We wonder how we ended up here and how things got so bad. We’ve slowly pushed God out of our schools, courthouses, and our own living breathing lives. In schools today it is rare for us to be allowed to mention the name of God or Jesus without consequences. Marriage used to be a sacred bond between one man and one woman. Now if we don’t like it, we can easily toss it away as if it never happened, and try as many times as we want with whoever we want. We’ve even gone as far as to not even consider God and His laws and His love when dealing with the life of an unborn child. If it doesn’t convenience us, then we will just throw their life away. We brought this upon ourselves, and we encourage it still.

Political correctness is now at the center of this nation. We’re a nation full of sin and transgression that is more worried about offending one person than the One who created the heavens and earth and gave us life. Again, we’ll even put people in harm’s way before we offend someone. Here in Charlotte, North Carolina, the hot topic is gender-neutral bathrooms. Fortunately, North Carolina has passed the House Bill 2 (HB2), which simply states that people in government buildings are to use the restroom based off which gender they are at birth, as opposed to what they identify as. This has not stopped certain non-government businesses from making gender-neutral bathrooms, nor has it stopped people and big companies from shunning North Carolina for the bill. This movement for transgender equality has thankfully yet to make its way into our schools in the Charlotte area. That hasn’t stopped them from trying though. Earlier this year, Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Schools introduced and proposed the “Gender Unicorn” in hopes to help get the ball rolling with the transgender issues that would come with these gender-neutral bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers.

This “Gender Unicorn” is supposed to help children with their gender identity and expression, along with helping them figure out which gender they are attracted to. It would also propose policies that would allow children to decide which bathroom and locker rooms they use based on their gender identity. Kids may also choose their gender-based activities. This includes sports, dress code, extracurricular activities and even which gender they participate with during overnight fieldtrips. Also, it would make it to where teachers and other authority figures could not notify parents of their children’s gender questions unless given permission by the child themselves. These and more policies are supposedly put in place to help the children. In reality though, it opens them to possible harm and danger, causing even more confusion for the young minds of our youth in this ever-darkening world.

Thank God that this has yet to be instituted in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County schools. Sadly, it was not turned down because of its possible harm it may bring to children, not because of the immorality of it. It was only turned down because of the already existing HB2 law. We think we are wise beyond compare and have all the answers.

Romans 1:21-23 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

America is living in a Romans 1 moment. Read chapter 1 of Romans, specifically verses 18-32, and see for yourself. We literally have taken God out of the picture and are trying to replace him with a four-footed beast called the “Gender Unicorn!” Why? Because we think we know better than God. We think God is too offensive and that political correctness is the answer. So much so that we will put children into more danger than they already are in this world. We want to allow the perverts, pedophiles, and rapists to have easier access to the children of America. But hey, our transgender community will be happy and unoffended. Whether unicorns, or whatever creature or object you want to make it, it doesn’t matter. We are exchanging God for whatever makes us happy and seems correct in the eyes of man. We’re a foolish nation, thinking we have all the answers. All we are doing is playing right into the Devil’s agenda.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

There is no doubt that this is a darkening nation and a darkening world. Nevertheless, we should be like Paul, not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16). It is up to us as Christians, followers and representatives of Christ Jesus, to be the light to the world we are called to be (Matthew 5:14). We must not let darkness prevail and consume everything. Remember, darkness is only the absence of light and all we have to do is let our light shine. Shine bright, brothers and sisters. Be bold for our Father and our Savior, Christ Jesus. Only then can we bring this nation and its people to repentance and back to God the Father.
