Spreading The Gospel Through Social Media

Social networking sites can be considered some of the worst or best inventions! In my opinion, it can go either way, depending on how we choose to utilize these social networking sites. By using social networking sites, such as FacebookTwitter, etc., we have a potential audience of 1.11 billion people that could see or hear the Word of the true God.

We have the opportunity to reach more people in an economical manner. For example we can advertise one of our past articles on Facebook for $5.00 and have a guaranteed minimum reach of 1,300 people viewing our ad, or we could spend $30 on an ad and we’ll have a guaranteed minimum reach of 6,000 people with a maximum audience of 11,000 people. Your ad has the potential to reach more than the 6,000 or 11,000 viewers Facebook guarantees you based off of the advertising budget you set. Every time someone likes or shares your ad your article is shared on their news feed to their friends and family saying this is what your friend recently liked.

Not only does Facebook allow you to reach a broader audience in an economical manner, but Facebook sends you articles and webinars on how to advertise on their site. Facebook tells you the demographics of the people who like your page, what time of day and which day of the week you have the largest audience. And if you post an article that receives a lot of attention, Facebook sends tips on how to reach an even broader audience!

The Infuse page on Facebook currently has a total of 336 likes or 336 followers on Facebook who view the articles we post and daily scriptures. We did a test run for several days during the Feast of Tabernacles 2013 to see if Facebook advertising was worth it. I can attest to the fact that Facebook was correct; we had a daily budget of $10 with a potential audience of 10-25 new page likes per day, and we never dropped below the minimum of 10 new page likes. We actually received 143 new page likes during the advertisement we ran during the Feast of Tabernacles. Since then we have advertised a few of Infuse’s past articles reaching a total of 19,000 viewers.

According to Facebook, our audience is comprised of 59 percent female fans, and males make up 40 percent of our fans. We are most popular for ages 18-44 years old. We have people from all over the world following our page, such as Jordan, Italy, Turkey, India, Germany, Nigeria, Philippines, Jamaica, Canada, United Kingdom, Brazil, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cayman Islands, South Africa, Australia, and the United States.

Our plans are to spend about $360 annually to promote the Infuse page and Infuse articles, which equals to $30 per month with a potential monthly audience of 6,000-11,000 viewers! We have one of the greatest opportunities to spread God’s true Word to so many people all over the world if we utilize social networking in a positive manner.
