Comfort in a Dark World

God gives us amazing promises in the mist of this dark world when we read Psalms 23 but just looking at verses 1-6 we see comfort. There is comfort in green pastures, still waters, a banquet table, and an overflowing cup. This all points to the restoration of God’s Kingdom. It also shows his grace and mercy. Right in the middle of these verses is “the valley of the shadow of death” It may seem that this verse is out of place, but think about your valleys. They are places in our life of pain, suffering, hardship, and darkness. God does give us his promise that we will never walk alone. He is where we find comfort. He is the one who helps us endure and walk out of the valley.
